Description
up for sale is a completed, handcrafted cross stich sampler. It is a charming picture a LITTLE BOY PRACTICING swinging a club at a golf ball.It is from the JCA Simplicity Collection based on a design by Barbara Shipman. The title is: DADDY's Caddie. This particular design was done by Barbara Shipman and was licensed by Seiffer & Assoc. Under license by Simplicity Pattern Company. This is an authorized use of this design and does not violate Federal copyrights.
With colorart, the picture is printed onto poly fabric and then embellished with cross stitch.
In this picture the little boy's hat, cloths and shoes are done in cross stitches.
There is no label on the back as to the kit number. Included in the listing is a picture of a kit for this item.
the size is 12 x 14 and it is ready for a 2" mat. It is stretched and mounted on to plywood backing.
The picture was a hand crafted model to a needpoint kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished. It was covered in plastic when displayed to protect the picture and still is. I was able to acquire quite a few of the completed embroidery produced by this company. See my other listings.
I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website:
"Due to the death of our owner, Alan S. Getz, JCA, Inc. has ceased operations indefinitely.
We would like to thank our loyal customers who have supported JCA for over 50 years.
JCA manufactures premium needlecraft products and distributes fine knitting yarns. We are an amalgamation of three companies-Paternayan Brothers (started in 1939), Elsa Williams (started in 1960) and Reynolds Yarns (also started in 1960)."
picture and still is.
