For sale is a completed, hand crafted cross stitch embroidery from the JCA Elsa Williams Collection. Designed by Michael A. LeClair
It is a lovely floral design features wild roses - Rosa Nitida Redutea.
Rosa Nitida also known as the shining rose due to its glossy leaves (nitidus is Latin for Shining.) It is a perennial species in the plant genus Rosa in the plant family Rosaceae.
It is native to northeastern North America, from Connecticut north to Newfoundland and Quebec. It forms a low, suckering, deciduous shrub, growing up to a metre in height, although often less. Its stems are thin and covered in bristles. Its pinnate leaves have 7 to 9 shining leaflets which turn bright red, yellow and purple in the fall. Its small pin flowers appear in summer and are subtly but sweetly scented, smelling like Convallaria (Lily of the Valley). They arae followed by small round red hips.
It is done on ivory aida cloth with an ivory double mat - ivory on the outside and dark green inner accent.
The size is 13 x 16 and it is ready for a frame.  The embroidery is covered in plastic to protect the embroidery.
Included in this listing is a picture of the original kit which was for a pair of rose cross stitch embroideries.  The picture is shown for a reference only as this cross stitch does not come with a kit.
All the kits from this company were made in the United States. It is mounted onto plywood backing and on the back it indicates that the plywood is from Brasil.
