    Description

    Up for sale is a completed, hand crafted,  and framed Picture -  Cross Stitch.
    It is a lovely rendering of a hope chest filled with a dancer's costume and ballerina slippers. It is just charming!
    It is mounted onto plywood and has a glossy gold (metallic coating) frame. There are some nicks on the frame and it may need to be replaced.  The size is 15 x 13.  The title of the cross stitch is: YESTERDAY'S DREAMS and the kit number was #05549. I have seen other similar pictures with ballerinas that were designed by Joan Marchie.
    On the back there is a label indicating that this is the photo model. That is what makes this so unique in that it was the initial hand crafted model that was used to take a photo that went on to the kits.
    I haven't been able to locate this particular kit anywhere on the internet and since the company is no longer manufacturing these kits, finding this in the future will be pretty slim.
    This picture was a hand crafted model to a needlepoint kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished.
    This is rare because it is no longer being manufactured.
    I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website:
