Vintage Cross Stitch Sampler Station In Life Where To Get Off Framed Jane Snead

Description

This humorous vintage sampler is embroidered in cross-stitch. The stitching is carefully executed and is worked in green and red colors.
The tongue-in-cheek motto says, “Don’t worry so much about your station in life there is always someone to tell you where to get off.”
The sampler is framed under glass in a 1-inch beveled wood frame. Label affixed to reverse is from Jane Snead Samplers Keepsake Needlework of Philadelphia. I believe this piece dates from the 1960’s.
Condition is used. The paper backing has major tears, staining and some paper loss. There are some very light discoloration spots on the linen due to age but not very noticeable.
The wood frame is in good condition with hanging wire affixed to reverse.
Framed size measures approximately 20-1/2 inches x 7-1/2 inches.
