Description
This gorgeous cross stitch piece features the architectural style and colorwashed beauty of historic Charleston's famous Rainbow Row. This was an estate sale piece, and I don't have any information on the age or needlework artist, but the initials 'LTS' are stitched into the lower right corner of the piece (see photo). Based on the frame style and framing color scheme, I would estimate it was stitched in the late 1980s - 1990s.The framed picture measures about 22 1/4 inches in length and is approximately 11inches in height, so it's long, narrow medium-sized needlework piece.
The framer's label, "Martin's Frame Gallery" in Hanover, Pennsylvania, is still intact.
The frame is solid wood, and stained a weathered beige with burnished taupe edges and a narrow inner border of wedgewood blue. The wider outer mat is also wedgewood blue, lined with a taupe inner mat.
It
was meticulously stitched and much care and expense put into the high quality frame - it is just perfect.
The piece is in very good condition. The frame has some minor scuffs from wear, consistent with age. The mats are great condition with no fading, stains, spots or holes. The needlework picture is also in wonderful condition - no fading, stains, or holes. The glass is in good condition with no cracks or chips. The hanging screws are tight and the hanging wire is secure and sturdy. There are some tears in the picture's paper backing - these do not effect the quality of the picture. See photos for more details.
Every effort will be made to minimize the environmental impact of packing and shipping each item.
