Native Costumes and Places!
This is a gorgeous hand made and hand stitched Scandinavian bell pull! It features intricate embroidery depicting eight women in native Scandinavian costumes with the place name for the location each costume is from stitched below each dress. I've found a lot of vintage embroideries in my time but this piece looks like it should be in a Scandinavian museum. It's amazing!
The bell pull fabric is ivory linen and it does have some small dots of staining. It has wood holders attached to the linen at the bottom and the top with metal racks on the back of the wood. The linen is attached to the wood pieces with heavy duty staples. There is a metal hanger on the top wood piece to hang it up and a metal loop on the bottom wood piece to hang a bell. This bell pull didn't have a bell attached when I found it.
Approximate Item Dimensions:
46" long (48.5" from the top of the metal hanger loop to the bottom of the metal bell loop) x 6.75" across the linen.
In very nice condition for it's age, no tears, rips or holes. There are some dots of staining, mostly near the next to last costume depicted, the one that says Staphorst below it (9th photo above).
